BREATH & MAKE

 

Art Therapist, Amanda Smith, ART-BC, LCAT will lead a special workshop for kids ages 7–12.

Teaching them how to use art as a tool to relax, reset, and express themselves. From mindful breathing exercises to creative projects that help regulate emotions, it was all about feeling good and having fun.Because sometimes the best way to work through big feelings… is with a paintbrush. 

Monthly Themes

September – Sun Prints & Summer Memories β˜€οΈπŸŒΏ
Celebrate the end of summer with a magical cyanotype (sun print) art project! Kids will create beautiful nature-inspired prints while reflecting on their favorite summer memories and thinking about the special moments, skills, and dreams they want to carry into the new season.

October – Magical Masks 🎭✨
Design and decorate a one-of-a-kind mask that tells your story! Participants will explore the many parts of themselves, showing the world who they are on the outside while celebrating the unique qualities that shine within.

November – Wish Dolls & Fantastic Creatures πŸ§ΈπŸ¦„
Bring imagination to life by creating a whimsical wish doll or magical creature using yarn, fabric, beads, and colorful craft supplies. Along the way, participants will reflect on their hopes, dreams, and goals, giving their handmade creation a special meaning all its own.

December – Gifts of Gratitude πŸŽπŸ’Ž
Wrap up the year with a heartfelt keepsake! Participants will design and build a decorative treasure box filled with symbols of their personal strengths, happy memories, and things they are grateful for. Their "gratitude box" will serve as a reminder of the inner gifts they can carry with them throughout the holiday season and into the new year.
